Oscar nominated Edward Norton, delivers a searing performance as Derek Vineyard, a former neo-Nazi skinhead seeking retribution for the murder of his father. Fueled by racist hate, Derek becomes the leader of a white supremisist group who uses his intelligence to espouse destructive beliefs that ultimately culminate in prison time for murder.

While serving his time behind bars, Derek becomes a changed man, ashamed of his ugly past and no longer driven by hatred. Upon release from prison, he struggles to keep his teenage brother, played by Eddie Furlong, from going down the same dangerous path.
